Jeanie Baas is the owner of Plants Unlimited Inc , an interior plantscaping company specializing in creating beautiful , healthy spaces through plants. She is also the founder of Plantmania Expo , a premier plant expo dedicated to education, community and celebrating all things plants. With a passion for greenery and connection, Jeanie brings people and plants together in inspiring ways.
Savannah Baas (@plants_unlimited_inc)
Savannah is a 23-year-old entrepreneur and proud owner of Plants Unlimited Inc - Houseplant Boutique. With extensive knowledge of indoor plants, she has turned her passion for greenery into a thriving business.
Savannah loves sharing the beauty and benefits of houseplants with others and is especially drawn to the art of kokedama, where creativity and nature come together in living works of art.
Gary Weitermann (simplytopiaries.com)
Gary, owner and creator of Simply Topiaries, brings more than 30 years of horticultural experience and a lifelong passion for transforming plants into living works of art. A graduate of Florida Southern College with a Bachelor’s Degree in Horticulture, Gary owned a successful landscaping business for more than 20 years before spending over a decade as a horticulturist at SeaWorld Orlando and Discovery Cove, where he helped create and maintain intricate topiary displays. Today, he brings that same creativity, precision, and craftsmanship to Simply Topiaries, specializing in unique tabletop living topiaries. Each piece is individually planted and handcrafted, making every creation a one-of-a-kind living sculpture designed to grow more beautiful over time

Jim Thrash is a fifth-generation farmer with over 40 years of experience and a deep passion for tropical plants, collecting, and cultivation. His approach to plant care combines decades of hands-on experience with holistic practices rooted in his Native American heritage.
Jim believes plants are incredibly resilient, choosing their own paths while we serve as caretakers, providing what they need to thrive. For over 20 years, Jim has been working in nurseries and connecting with plant enthusiasts and collectors. Plants are his sanctuary, bringing peace, joy, and a connection to nature that allows him to flourish alongside them.
Jim has proudly been part of the Toltec/Purple Elephant family, working alongside Pearl and Michael to share exceptional plants, education, and a genuine passion for the plant community.
Joe B Day
Joe B. Day began his bonsai journey in the 1980s and was a founding member of the Azalea City Bonsai Society in Mobile, Alabama, in 1981. With over 40 years of experience, Joe has studied under some of the world's most respected bonsai masters, including John Naka. He has conducted workshops, demonstrations, and educational programs throughout the Southeast, and his bonsai have been featured in national conventions, publications, and books.
In addition to his expertise in bonsai cultivation, Joe is known for his handcrafted natural stone slabs, many of which have been used in the National Bonsai & Penjing Museum's collection in Washington, D.C. Now retired, Joe continues to pursue his passion, caring for his extensive personal bonsai collection and sharing his knowledge with fellow enthusiasts.

Director of Horticulture | Bellingrath Gardens
Tom's passion for plants started early, taking horticulture classes in middle school, participating in FFA and 4H and designing his first orchid display at just 11 years old. Since then, he has build a remarkable career in sustainable agriculture, working as a dairy herd manager, organic vegetable farmer and nursery manager.
He has taught botany and earth sciences to middle schoolers , volunteered at the University of South Alabama herbarium and partnered with conservation groups to monitor threatened native orchids and protect longleaf pines and pitcher plant bogs.
Tom is also an award winning photographer and is dedicated to protecting Alabama's native ecosystems.
